My Weigh i5000 vs. KD-7000
I am in the market for a kitchen scale to help determine nutrient content of
meals and portion control... with a secondary interest in baking by
weight.
I also have people in the household that are not-so-careful with
my precious equipment. Hence I've eliminated from consideration both the 7001DX
(crud in the pivoting display) and the new Uber 6000 (so much beautiful SS that
will be scuffed and marred).
I'm leaning towards the KD-7000. However the
i5000's description includes "Professional Grade
5000 division Load Cell with 4 strain gauge sensors." What does that mean? It sounds
impressive (to me). Is it desirable enough to influence my purchase? I have no
interest in the counting features of the i5000... and I'm a bit puzzled as to
the usefulness of the Add N Weigh feature.
Any info/insight would be most
appreciated.

I would go with that KD7000
I would go with that KD7000 regardless of what they say on their
website.
They're probably similar internal guts I think. Save the money
and go with that 7000, I like the SS tray on it and the overall design /
functions much better then the i5000
