The Proscale LUXE is a square pocket scale with a stainless steel tray and a pop-out display. It has a good feel to it,  heavy in weight and a fun design.   The display tucks into the scale's housing to protect the LCD from damage and prevent accident turn-on.  The display uses a white reverse type backlight (it looks nice, sort of like an iPod display).

The Proscale LUXE is the better of the Proscale series pocket scales.  However build quality is not quite that of the higher end brands.  We did a bit of research and learned that the LUXE is not made by Proscale in their own factory.  Production is outsourced and thus perhaps the reason for the issues in build quality.    Nevertheless,  the LUXE did very well in our drop tests and our overload tests.

The performance of the LUXE was within specifications.   We calibrated the scale and then ran through our standard series of tests.   All numbers were within +/- 0.1 gram as long as we placed the items in the center of the tray.  We did experience a 0.2 gram variation in 1 of the far corners at higher weights (so if you buy one of these scales place all items in the center of the tray for optimum accuracy).   Drift was minor and within tolerance (no drift within 40 seconds).

Overall:  Thumbs Up.
T
his scale is really nice,  performed accurately, has good features and did well in the drop and overload tests.  However we just don't feel very confident about it given that it was not made by Proscale in their own factory.  If you can afford to spend a little more for a better model,  then we do suggest doing so.

Recommendations:   As noted above, this is a great pocket scale.  It's build quality isn't quite that of a major brand. However, this scale gives quite a bit of bang for the buck.

*Within reason - we stepped on the platform,  dropped the scale from 4 ft, all without any damage except for cosmetic.
